We’re back, baby!
Shufflefest is making its triumphant return, and this year, we’re going bigger, bolder, and more creative than ever. After an incredible inaugural festival last year, we’re thrilled to announce that Shufflefest 2025 is officially in the works.
What is Shufflefest?
If you’re new here, welcome! Shufflefest is our annual 10-minute play festival where creativity takes center stage. Writers, directors, actors, and theater lovers from all walks of life come together to create an unforgettable weekend of storytelling. Think of it as a lightning storm of ideas, emotions, and pure theatrical magic.
Last year’s theme, “The Games We Play,” inspired a kaleidoscope of genres, from laugh-out-loud comedies to heartfelt dramas, and even a touch of the surreal. This year, we’re shaking things up with a fresh theme: “The Return.”
Why “The Return”?
“The Return” is about coming back stronger, rediscovering what matters, and diving headfirst into the stories that connect us. Whether it’s a literal return to a place, a reunion with someone, or the metaphorical journey of finding yourself, the possibilities for storytelling are endless. It’s a theme that’s wide enough to inspire creativity but focused enough to spark something truly special.
How to Get Involved
We’re calling all playwrights, actors, directors, and creatives—this is your chance to shine!
Writers: Submissions are OPEN! Send us your best 10-minute plays by February 7th, 2025. We’re looking for scripts that push boundaries, tug heartstrings, or make us laugh until we cry.
Directors: Submissions for directors are OPEN! Send us your resume and a filled out submission packet by February 7th, 2025.
Actors: If you are interested in acting in one of the 10-minute plays, submit your resume (make sure it has a headshot) through our submission form, and we will distribute it to our directors!
Volunteers: Stay tuned for updates on how to join the Shufflefest family. We’re looking for bold performers and visionaries to bring these stories to life.
